From the American People
USAID/East Africa will work with COMESA to promote increased regional economic growth and integration. The goal is to increase the effectiveness of African integration and trade institutions, enhancing agricultural productivity and natural resource management, while improving the integration of vulnerable groups into sustainable regional development.
COMESA is working to improve the efficiency of selected transport corridors; improve access to finances for regional trade and infrastructure; strengthen the policy framework for the regional power grid; increase access to regional and global markets by increasing the competitiveness of selected regional value chains, and is increasing the capacity of private and intergovernmental African regional institutions to move towards regional integration.
